Segro and Urume are an elven brother and sister traveling the world hunting spirit beasts. During a hunt for a wyvern, they encounter Shin, a butcher who has been transported from another world. After watching the siblings bring down the beast only to leave its carcass behind, Shin is shocked to discover that elves have no custom of eating the creatures they hunt. Armed with nothing more than his knives and years of experience as a butcher, he expertly carves up the wyvern and treats the bewildered elves to a barbecue of freshly cooked monster meat. Despite having little interest in food, Segro and Urume can't resist Shin's wyvern spare ribs, and after devouring them, they discover that eating the meat restores their exhausted bodies. With a talented otherworldly butcher now accompanying them, the siblings resume their journey in search of even more powerful spirit beasts.
